Join us in our mission to mentor kids to make positive choices! kids.now is Canada’s national charity for youth leadership. For over a decade we’ve been helping kids build life-success skills through our free, in school, afterschool programs. Help kids.now lead, inspire and encourage kids to reach their full potential.
Here are ten simple ways you can get involved now:
- Spare Change to Make Change. You can change a kid’s life today. Make a donation to kids.now through CanadaHelps. Donate $25 or more now, and be one of 100 people to receive a copy of bestselling author Michael Ungar’s latest book We Generation: Raising Socially Responsible Kids, courtesy of the book’s publisher, McClelland & Stewart.
- Give the Gift of Time: Become a kids.now volunteer and mentor kids in your community. You can help them build skills that last a lifetime, while developing your own leadership and communications skills. You’ll be fully trained by kids.now, and you’ll receive a program manual to lead you through each session. Fill out our mentor application to be considered for our upcoming programs.
- Become a Sponsor. Talk to your company’s community affairs or marketing team about supporting kids.now through an annual donation, sponsorship, cause-marketing promotion, or employee grant program. - Nominate a School. Talk to a local elementary school in your community about running a free kids.now program. Once the school has confirmed their interest, send Yvonne (Western Canada),Heather (Central Canada), or Len (Eastern Canada) the school’s name and full contact information, and we’ll do the rest!
- Do In-Kind. Supply student prizing for kids.now programs, or subsidize food and beverages for our end-of-program parties. Drop Paula a line to be added to our program donor list.
- Communicate for the Cause. Post a kids.now banner on your website, or feature information on volunteer mentor opportunities on your company intranet or in your newsletter. Ask Jessica how you can access kids.now banner ads or custom editorial content to help us get the word out.
- Throw a Kids Party. We’re big fans of third-party fundraisers. We have ideas to help integrate support for kids.now into your next golf tournament, gala or employee event. Contact Albert to get the party started.
- Follow us on Twitter and Facebook! Stay current with kids.now news, access valuable content on youth development, and connect with other supporters through our Twitter and Facebook page. If you Tweet, spread the word by retweeting our posts.
- Donate Space or Ink: Donate ad space from your corporate media buy for kids.now advertising, or ask your print production suppliers to donate their services for our program advertising or collateral. Contact Jessica to find out how.
- Be a kids.now “Friendraiser.” Spread the word and support the work that kids.now does by sending this document to a hundred of your closest friends. Or click the Share button below to send them a link to our website for more information.
