Bullying Awareness Week 2009 Information and Resources

A parent guide, "Call it Safe," was put together by the BC Confederation of Parent Advisory Councils to help parents deal with bullying in elementary schools: bced.gov.bc.ca/sco/elem_callsafe.pdf

kidshealth.org provides families with perspective, advice, and comfort about a wide range of physical, emotional and behavioral issues that affect children and teens, including great tips for kids and teens on dealing with bullies: kidshealth.org/kid/feeling/emotion/bullies.html

An initiative by the U.S Department of Health and Human Services, called Stop Bullying Now. The site features good information for kids, parents, and educators. The information is presented in a fun way, and includes cartoon webisodes and games: stopbullyingnow.hrsa.gov/kids

 Media Awareness Network has developed a series of lessons for the classroom to give students a better understanding of the ethical and legal implications of cyberbullying and to promote positive Internet use: media-awareness.ca/english/resources/educational/lessons/cyberbullying.cfm

Education.com provides parents of school-aged children with free access to information and resources to give them the answers they need on various tops, including an extensive section on bullying at school and online: education.com/topic/school-bullying-teasing/
