5. Who delivers the program?

Dedicated volunteer coaches donate their time and expertise to deliver the kids.now program. Though they come from all walks of life - business, academia, theatre, health care, finance, law - they share a common passion, bringing out the best in kids.

Potential coaches undergo an extensive screening process. They are carefully selected to bring enthusiasm, experience and reliability to their role. During two interviews, we find out why they want to coach, what obstacles they have overcome and whether their personality will inspire the kids. They must also provide three reference and a police check.

Then we match successful candidates with a school according to the specific needs of the school and the preferences and characteristics of the coach. At the end of the program coaches are evaluated by their kids and school champion for meeting curriculum and performance objectives.

In addition to receiving training in program delivery, coaches are invited to an emotional intelligence workshop that enhances their personal and professional leadership development. And our ongoing volunteer support program ensures that our coaches are a happy and appreciated bunch.
